There are two ways to get a girls attention, both of which are at odds with each other. The first is to emulate the guys you see in the catalog pages of Abercrombie & Fitch, J. Crew, Hollister, and Aeropostale. If those companies are experts at knowing the look that today’s young people want, then you should go for exactly that. But then there’s a problem..
Every other guy is trying to dress like that too. With so many clones out there it becomes a challenge to stand out and get more attention than them if a girl can’t tell you apart from the guy you’re standing next to.
A better strategy is to stand out. You want to look in a way that only a few other guys look. While there will be a much smaller percentage of girls who are into an alternative look, you will get the very strong attention of girls who do, meaning you have to a lot less work when it comes to approaching, attracting, or seeking them out. In many cases that make it extremely obvious that they want to talk to you with extended eye contact or smiling. All you have to do is say hi.
If you want to look different than all the other guys, you will have to buy things or accessories that is not readily available at your local mall. Usually traveling is a good source for these types of objects. But be careful: you don’t want to look like you are trying too hard. Don’t dress like a freak just to get attention if it doesn’t fit your personality. Just accentuate the flair that you want to achieve without adopting this whole other look that isn’t you.
Instead of worrying about how to get attention, a better strategy is to be proactive and approach women instead. It shouldn’t matter if a girl notices you or not as long as you go after the girl you want. Many times I approach girls who didn’t even know I existed the second before I opened my mouth.
Approaching is the hardest part of the game. There is nothing natural or easy about walking up to a girl you don’t know and talking to her in a way that makes her laugh, builds attraction, and ends with her giving you her phone number.
After approaching hundreds of different girls with all types of openers, I finally settled on two that are my “defaults,” meaning they are powerful enough that I can use them regardless of the girl or the environment. I share them in my book Bang, along with others you can use for bars, clubs, daytime spots, and even the gym. It has 64 pages on Early Game that focus exclusively on the approach and what to say immediately after. I share dozens of conversation tips with tons of word-for-word examples, and I also teach you the concept of threads to keep the interaction going without having awkward silences.
